The Imperial XV-5A Microwave Emission Vehicle (M.E.V.), or 'Deanimator,' as it's fondly known by enemies and allies alike, is the latest war machine from the Imperial States.
The 'Deanimator' is designed to flush out enemy entrenchments with its large microwave projector. The microwave projector fires an extremely intense beam of EM radiation at a target, essentially 'deanimating' said target. If for some reason that target is still standing, the 'Deanimator' can finish it off with its 2 autocannons placed beside the microwave projector.
These tanks hold a large amount of fear factor due to their unorthodox weapon packages. They continue to uphold their fearsome reputation as many enemy combatants have seen their comrades melt away at the sight of these tanks. Little to no survivors are alive to relive such events - that is, if they dare to relive those events. Many troops just flee when hearing the soft hum of these tanks' engines, as it is their safest bet to live another day and not die from a gruesome death.
These tanks are used as spearheads for any assault where they are needed to flush out a trench or a small village. As these tanks hover away, only ashes and cinders are left rising from the ruins. It is heated debate of whether these tanks are too gruesome on battlefield. However, Imperial commanders have ignored such thoughts and have tried to find ways to make these tanks more effective on the battlefield.
Despite their fearsome reputation among infantry, these tanks are vulnerable to enemy armor. To alleviate this, Imperial commanders often place a Nemesis Hover MBT or two alongside 'Deanimators' to take care of such enemy armor.
